Please
note that even for UK domestic flights,
photo identification in the form of a passport,
photo driving licence or a few other suitable
media are now required. It is illegal to
carry gas canisters on an aircraft. The
Compass Point shop will bring suitable canisters
to the event as long as you telephone to
reserve them on 01253 795597.

Centre.
FRIDAY
13TH JUNE
Are
You Arriving At Glasgow Early?
If you will be arriving at the airport a
long time before your flight, we would be
happy for you to join forces with other
early arrivals and hire a car for the weekend
from the airport so you can travel to the
event in your own time. If you wish to be
put in touch with another pair who are arriving
early so you can fill a car with 4 people,
please go to the "Share Car Hire"
page on the website www.lamm.co.uk.
Please inform us if you hire a car so that
we don't wait for you at the bus station
or airport. Providing you contact us we
will refund your coach fee at registration.
See below for details of car hire possibilities
from Glasgow.
Glasgow
Buchanan Bus Station - Coach Departs at
20:00 for Glasgow Airport
If you will be arriving at the airport some
hours before the coach departs, you could
take an airport shuttle bus to Glasgow Bus
Station, spend the day in town and then
join our coach at Buchanan Bus Station rather
than the airport. The bus station is situated
in Killermont Street near to Glasgow Queen
Street Railway Station and is less than
15 minutes walk from Glasgow Central Railway
Station. Please note that the coach will
NOT be calling at a railway station.
The coach will be standing at Tour Stand
nr 23, sited at the far end of the bus
station opposite the main building. You
should be able to locate our marshal, Charlie
Whetham, who will be wearing a bright
yellow LAMM bib, a few minutes before
the departure time. Also we expect the coach
to be marked with LAMM or Lowe Alpine
MM and it is possible that some information
will be provided on the overhead displays.
In case of emergency such as late running
transport, please contact Charlie on mobile
07779 829619 to discuss the options.
Glasgow
Airport - Coach Departs at 20:30
Our meeting point will be close to one of
the Airport Information Desks. Look for
the desk situated on the Ground Floor near
to Domestic Flight Baggage Reclaim. If you
arrive on an International flight, you will
need to proceed to this area after you have
reclaimed your bags. Charlie, our marshal
will be wearing a bright yellow LAMM
bib and will arrive with the coach from
Buchanan Bus Station - so don't be concerned
if the marshal does not appear until a few
minutes before the coach departure time
(or later if the coach is delayed). Charlie
will lead you to where the coaches are required
to await incoming flights.
What
To Do if You Miss the Glasgow Coach
This is not a disaster as long as you REMEMBER
TO BRING YOUR DRIVER'S LICENCE AND A CREDIT
CARD! There are at least 4 car hire
firms situated at the airport, within a
short walk of the terminal building. These
include Avis 0141 8872261, Europcar 0141
8870414, Hertz 0141 887 2451, Alamo/National
0141 8877915 and they ALL close at 22.30.
Weekend rates are reasonable and you should
expect to pay an all-inclusive price of
about £70 per economy car for 48
hours (+ 59 minutes grace) from Friday
afternoon -> Sunday evening. Check the
damage excess when you hire a car. Look
out for other LAMMers at their office in
the same predicament so that you can share
a car between two teams. If you are stuck
in the centre of Glasgow we suggest that
you catch the airport shuttle bus from Buchanan
Bus Station to the airport where you can
hire a car. Buses run approximately every
30 minutes and take 25 minutes.
SUNDAY
15TH JUNE
A
single coach will leave at 15:00,
calling at Glasgow Buchanan Coach Station,
Glasgow Central Railway Station and finally
at Glasgow Airport. Allow
10 minutes to walk from the Event
Centre to the coach. THE PICK UP POINT
ON SUNDAY WILL BE VERY CLOSE TO THE DROP
OFF POINT ON FRIDAY. If you are not
there on time you will miss the coach,
as there is no significant margin for delay.
If everyone on the list is on board before
15:00, the coach will leave early.
If you miss the coach you will need to try
to hitch a lift in a car leaving the venue.
