LAMM 2010 - WEATHER FORECAST

            General Situation for the weekend 12/13  June at Loch Fyne  issued at 10pm 11/06/10 
            A  weak ridge of high pressure dominates the weather overnight and at tomorrow. A  new area of low pressure will develop over central Scotland by midday on Sunday  with associated fronts bringing patchy rain and drizzle with low cloud and hill  fog. The area will lie in a fresh to strong unstable and cool N/NW'ly flow for  the weekend. 
            Saturday  
            Fine  and dry with plenty of sunshine in the morning then increasing amounts of high  level cloud to end the day. 
            Visibility  generally very good apart from some patchy hill fog at first. 
            Winds  N’ly backing W/NW’ly light in the glens but 30-35mph over the mountains. 
            Freezing  level 5000ft 
            Temperatures  16-18C glens, +5C at 3000ft 
            Sunday  
            Overcast  with rain at times in the morning with hill fog then brighter later in the day  but the risk of hill fog continuing.  
            Visibility  moderate in rain but poor in hill fog especially above 2000ft  
            Winds  S/SE’ly fresh becoming W/NW’ly fresh to strong 
            Freezing  level remaining at 5-6000ft.  
            Temperatures  of +12-17C glens  +5C at 3000ft
